Getting started

Introduction

Set up Clan_Bot for your RuneScape clan and link your members in a few minutes.

Set up your clan

  1. Add the bot to your Discord server. You need the Manage Server permission on that server.

    Add to Discord
  2. Link the server to your clan. Run /getstarted clan_name: with the exact name of your RuneScape clan. Only members with the Discord Manage Server permission can run it.

  3. Have your members verify. Each member runs /validate in Discord, or signs in on the website and verifies there. This links their RuneScape account to who they are. See the online status guide for what verification needs.

  4. Turn on citadel tracking. Caps are read from each player's Adventure Log, so members need a public RuneMetrics profile. Follow the Adventure Log guide.

Note

Once members are verified you can run /citadelstatus to see who has capped and visited this tick. The full list of commands is on the commands page.

How access works

Clan_Bot decides who can change clan settings from a member's in-game clan rank, not from Discord roles. There are two levels:

  • Admin can change everything: access, settings, promotion rules, point types, webhooks and the change history. By default this is Deputy Owner and above. The Owner is always an Admin.
  • Manager can run day-to-day tools such as recording caps for others, setting the reset time, awarding points and running promotion checks. By default this is the Admin rank and above.

An Admin can change the minimum ranks with /clanadmin access, and can also give a single member a higher level there. A grant can only raise someone's level. It never lowers it, and it is removed when the member leaves the clan.

Discord roles do not count

Being a Discord server owner or administrator does not give you clan access. You need a verified RuneScape account that is an active member of the clan, with a high enough rank (or a grant).
