Updates
What's new
Changes to Clan_Bot and the website, newest first.
Point columns and CSV export
v4.1.0Managers can now see points on the members list and download the clan's data as CSV files. This release also fixes validation between the bot and the website, and gets things ready for the end of the beta.
New
- Point columns. Managers and admins can add point columns to the members list, one for each point type, to sort and compare members by points.
- Data export. Managers and Admins can download the clan's data from the new Data export page: one CSV per table (members, points, rank history, citadel, events, attendance, XP history and the clan's setup), or everything in a .zip.
Fixed
- Validation. Validating with the Discord bot and signing in to the website no longer overwrite each other's logins.
- Very large point totals. Point values too big for the old limits are now handled correctly.
- Documentation. Corrections across the docs pages.
Changed
- End of the beta. Groundwork for Clan_Bot leaving its beta period.
Clan_Bot v4
v4.0.0Version 4 replaces v3 with a complete rebuild of Clan_Bot and this website. The tools you know are still here, and most of them do more. There are also new ones for rank progress, XP tracking and running your clan from Discord.
Why the change
v3 was built on technology that had grown old and hard to keep running. On top of that, changes Jagex made to the RuneScape APIs meant large parts of it had to be rewritten anyway. Rather than patch it again, we replaced it completely. The result is a faster, more reliable Clan_Bot that is easier for us to maintain and add features to, and cheaper to host.
Before you start
- Website accounts don't carry over. Create a new account on this site and verify your RuneScape account again. Your v3 login won't work.
- Google Sheets export has been removed. Your clan's data is on the website instead.
New
- Rank progress. Members see exactly what they still need for their next rank with
/rankprogressor on their dashboard. - XP tracking. Daily XP gains are recorded for every member with a public RuneMetrics profile. See your top gainers by skill for any period with
/topgainersor on the website's XP gains page. - Clan admin in Discord.
/clanadminopens panels for settings, access, promotions, point types and webhooks, so you don't need the website to run your clan. - Change history.
/clanadmin historyshows every change your admins made, in the bot or on the website. - Access for individual members. Give a member Manager or Admin access whatever their rank. It is removed automatically when they leave the clan.
- Discord Scheduled Events sync. Clan events can show up as Scheduled Events in your Discord server, and changes made in either place are kept in sync. See the events guide.
- Your own columns. The members list lets you choose which columns to show, and admins can set the default for the whole clan.
Improved
- Promotions. Rules can now also require a number of days at the current rank, or that the member was active within a number of days.
/promotioncheckand the website's Rank changes page split members into promotions, demotions and excluded, and explain why someone skipped a rank. - Points. Any point type can be awarded automatically for citadel caps, visits, Adventure Log activity or event attendance, not just the built-in ones. Award points by hand with
/awardpoint. - Events. Members RSVP from the website or Discord, and the host or a manager marks who actually turned up. Marking attendance can award points.
- Webhooks. When a lot happens at once, such as a big recruitment drive, you get one summary message instead of a flood. Webhooks can be set up on the website or with
/clanadmin webhooks. - Citadel.
/citadelstatuscombines the cap list and the reset time. Managers record a cap or visit for someone else with/cap username:and/visit username:. - The website. Rebuilt from scratch, with a clan dashboard and pages for members, citadel, XP gains and events. Admins can manage settings, webhooks and promotion rules from the browser.
- Updates. Clan rosters, ranks and name changes sync continuously in the background, so there's nothing to kick off by hand. Members with a private RuneMetrics profile no longer look inactive: a rise in their clan XP counts as activity.
Changed
- Access comes from in-game rank only. Choose the minimum rank for Admin and Manager. Discord roles and server permissions never give access to clan tools.
- Inactive clans. A clan nobody uses for 60 days is warned through its webhooks, then deactivated. Using the bot or the website keeps it active.
Removed or not back yet
- Google Sheets export.
- A few v3 commands, including
/getmypointsand the game info commands such as/vosand/vorago.
