How it works
Citadel tracking
How citadel weeks work, how visits and caps are picked up automatically, and when points are given.
Citadel weeks
Clan_Bot tracks the citadel one week at a time, from one reset to the next. A Manager sets when the next reset happens with /setresettime; after that every week is exactly 7 days. When the reset time passes, the new week starts at the clan's next sync, usually within a few minutes, and a Citadel reset webhook message is sent if you have one set up.
In the few minutes between the reset and the new week starting, marks on the website are refused; try again shortly. /cap and /visit start the new week themselves, so they always work.
Automatic detection
When a member visits or caps, RuneScape adds an entry to their Adventure Log ("I have visited my clan citadel", "I have capped at my clan citadel"). Clan_Bot reads those entries and records the visit or cap in the week the entry is dated, so a cap that is picked up late still lands in the right week.
For this to work:
- the member's RuneMetrics profile must be public,
- the Miscellaneous event must be ticked in their Adventure Log settings (see the Adventure Log guide), and
- the entry must still be among the latest 20 in their Adventure Log when their profile is fetched.
How quickly a cap shows up depends on how often that player is fetched: an active player within about 2 hours, a player who rarely plays possibly days later (see Player data updates). A very active player can push the entry out of their latest 20 before it is seen; record those by hand.
Recording by hand
- Any validated member can record their own visit or cap with
/visitor/cap. - Managers can record them for anyone, in Discord or on the website, including several members at once from the Members page.
- Only the current week can be marked by hand.
Visits, caps and points
- A cap counts as a visit too. A visit recorded earlier in the week is upgraded to a cap.
- Each member is counted once per week: a second cap or visit in the same week changes nothing.
- Point types with the Citadel cap or Citadel visit trigger are awarded the first time a cap or visit is recorded for the member that week, whether it was detected or recorded by hand. The matching Citadel cap / Citadel visit webhooks fire for detected ones.
Note
/citadelstatus shows who has visited and capped this week.
